A bid authorizes; it does not charge

Placing a bid authorizes the winning bid plus the buyer service fee on the advertiser's card. The money is reserved, not taken.

When the authorization is released

The authorization is released immediately when the bid is outbid, and when the auction or the listing is cancelled. The advertiser pays nothing in these cases.

When the amount is captured

The winner's authorization is captured only when the auction ends: the winning bid goes to the creator and the buyer service fee is collected. Bidders who lost were already released.

Refunds when the creator is at fault

If the placement is not delivered — the creator cancels after winning, or moderation decides the placement was not performed (the agreed proof is missing or the creator did not show up) — the advertiser is refunded right away, minus the payment processing cost. That payment processing cost is then collected from the creator out of their next sale and refunded to the advertiser; if it cannot be collected within about 170 days it stays with the advertiser. The result is recorded on the creator's profile: +1 cancelled deal when the creator cancels after winning, and +1 no-show when the creator did not show up or the agreed proof is missing.

Refunds when the platform is at fault

If IRLSlots cancels a placement or a refund is due to a platform error, the advertiser receives a full refund, including the payment processing cost.

How to request a refund

Email [email protected] within 30 days of the event with the deal link (from your dashboard), what went wrong, and any photos or other evidence. A moderator reviews the deal, the chat, the creative and the proof photos.

Timelines

We aim to decide within 5 business days of receiving a complete request. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method; banks usually post them within 5–10 business days.

What is not refundable

• the placement was performed as agreed and the proof was accepted;
• the advertiser broke the rules — for example a prohibited creative, or arranging the ad off-platform;
• more than 30 days have passed since the event.

Cancelling a bid

An advertiser cannot cancel a leading bid — the authorization stays until the auction ends. The only way out while it leads is being outbid, which releases the authorization. If the advertiser wins and does not proceed without a valid refund reason, the captured amount is not returned.

Cancelling as a creator

A creator who cancels before the auction ends releases every authorization on the slot: nobody is charged. Cancelling after winning refunds the advertiser under the rule above, is recorded as a cancelled deal on the creator's profile and deducts the payment processing cost from the creator's next sale.

Advertiser-supplied items

Items the advertiser mails to the creator are not returned unless the advertiser marked «return requested» in the bid; returns are arranged in chat and paid by the advertiser. IRLSlots does not refund shipping costs.
